1. HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DOING CROSSFIT AT CFFD? A LITTLE OVER 3-MONTHS

2. WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE THINGS ABOUT CFFD? FIRST AND FOREMOST IT WOULD BE THE PEOPLE. FROM THE MOMENT MY WIFE MISTE AND I WALKED INTO THE GYM WE FELT WELCOME. EVERYONE I HAVE ENCOUNTERED AT CFFD HAS A POSITIVE, HELPFUL AND ENCOURAGING ATTITUDE. THE TRAINERS HAVE ALL BEEN EXCELLENT…..THEY FOCUS ON EDUCATING YOU AND HELPING YOU SCALE THE WORKOUTS TO YOUR INDIVIDUAL ABILITY.

3. WHAT ARE SOME OF THE GOALS AND PROGRESS THAT YOU’VE MADE SINCE YOU STARTED CFFD? I SIMPLY JUST WANTED TO FEEL BETTER. LIKE MANY PEOPLE MOST OF MY DAY IS SPENT SITTING AT A DESK OR IN A VEHICLE AND I WAS TIRED OF FEELING TIRED. WHILE I CERTAINLY DON’T CONSIDER MYSELF STRONG, I’M AMAZED BY HOW QUICKLY YOU CAN BECOME STRONGER DOING CROSSFIT. IN 3-MONTHS I’VE SEEN MYSELF PROGRESS FROM BANDED PULL-UPS TO 10+ STRICT UNBROKEN. I’VE MOVED FROM 8 TO 14 AND MOST RECENTLY 20# WALL BALLS AND I CAN NOW DO SOME TOE-TO BARS.

4. WHAT ARE YOUR TOP 2 FAVORITE MOVEMENTS, LIFTS, OR WOD’S AND WHAT ARE YOUR 2 LEAST FAVORITE? MY FAVORITES WOULD BE PULL-UPS AND BOX JUMPS. I JUST HAVEN’T HAD THE COURAGE TO TRY THE 30” YET. I HAD ZERO PRIOR EXPERIENCE WITH ANY OF THE OLYMPIC LIFTS, SO WHILE I’M NOT VERY GOOD AT THEM, I’M GROWING TO LIKE THEM. MY LEAST FAVORITES WOULD BE THRUSTERS (IN MY MIND, JUST A REALLY HEAVY WALL BALL) AND BURPIES. I CAN’T IMAGINE ANYONE REALLY LIKES BURPIES.?

5. POUR YOUR HEART OUT AND LET US KNOW HOW YOU’VE BEEN IMPACTED BY CFFD. ADD ANYTHING YOU WANT!
THE BENEFITS OF JOINING CFFD HAVE BEEN FAR GREATER THAN I HAD HOPED FOR OR ANTICIPATED. I HAVE TO START BY THANKING OUR SON LANDON FOR ENCOURAGING MISTE AND I TO JOIN! WITHOUT HIS ENCOURAGEMENT AND COMMITMENT TO FITNESS, WE WOULDN’T HAVE TAKEN THIS STEP. CFFD IS FULL OF GOOD PEOPLE AND I HAVE MADE MANY NEW FRIENDS! AT 52 YEARS OLD, I ENJOY BEING COMPETITIVE AGAIN. CFFD GIVES YOU THE OPPORTUNITY TO COMPETE SIMPLY AGAINST YOURSELF, THE CLOCK, YOUR FELLOW ATHLETES OR AT REGIONAL LEVELS. CROSSFIT HAS BROUGHT MY FAMILY CLOSER TOGETHER. MISTE AND I SPEND MORE TIME TOGETHER….. A GOOD THING . MY SONS LOGAN AND LANDON (PICTURED ABOVE) AND MY DAUGHTER IN LAW DIHANNA ARE ALL ACTIVE IN CROSSIFT. OUR CONVERSATIONS AT THE DINNER TABLE ARE MUCH DIFFERENT THAN A YEAR AGO. I WOULD ENCOURAGE ANYONE, AT ANY AGE, OR CURRENT LEVEL OF FITNESS TO COME TO CFFD AND GIVE IT A TRY. DON’T GET ME WRONG, CROSSFIT MAY BE THE PHYSICALLY TOUGHEST THING YOU’LL EVER DO. BUT THE SENSE OF SATISFACTION YOU WILL GET LEAVING THE GYM, SOAKED IN SWEAT, HAVING JUST ACCOMPLISHED SOMETHING YOU NEVER IMAGINED YOU COULD DO, WILL BE WORTH EVERY SORE MUSCLE. I CAN SAY WITHOUT HESITATION BECAUSE OF CFFD I AM “BETTER THAN YESTERDAY”.
